A delicious seafood dish from Italian cuisine. Freshness of the basil and parsley played well against hot chilly flakes.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 20 mussels
  • 20 clams
  • 1 clove garlic (sliced)
  • 1 pinch chili flakes
  • 12 shrimp (cleaned & deveined)
  • salt
  • 12 leaves fresh basil
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 lb spaghetti

Instructions:

  1. Heat olive oil over medium-high heat, add mussels and cover. Cook for a few minutes until mussels open. Add garlic and roast until a light golden color. Add chili flakes, shrimp, and salt. Cook for a minute. Add basil, parsley and white wine. Reduce liquid by half. Add chopped tomatoes and cook another minute then add tomato sauce. Let boil gently for a few minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  2. Cook spaghetti in a large pot with salted boiling water. Follow directions on box.
  3. Once pasta is cooked, drain and toss with the sauce.
